No knights or camels or hussar feels bad. I really don’t like the stables where hussar is missing though. Maybe xbow -> hand cannon transition + hussar later? But they have 9 range hand cannons which is nothing to poke a stick at, as that outranges arbs. This is a really interesting civ, before one would go yep they are basically a CA civ (or go heavy on camels in some matchup). Again, don't know how the ghulam will play out. Ok so good eco, basically the Indian bonus from before. Camel scouts might be interesting in feudal on some maps. This time two UUs and don't know what they do. Lmao they don't even have elephant riders, so their elephants are the elephant archers (if their stats don't change they are still gonna be useless, not even +4 armor either) and the siege ones. Super cheap hussars with the UT though, so I think that's better than having BF. Cav seems to be the strong point, but no BF either. Definitely not a fast civ in terms of eco bonuses though, might help a bit to FC if you change your bo to use those extra bushes.Īrchery range units are crap, no arbs, no +4 armor for the skirms. Interesting bonuses, depends how fast the food comes in etc.

Might actually be good on water due to garrisoning the fishing ships, and also garrisoning the herdables would be more useful there, as you don't take them for ages anyway. Looks to me like a worse version of Japanese unless the UU put in work. Once again, don't know what the UU does but there is serious counter synergy having barracks techs be 50% cheaper and an infantry UU, since if you have an infantry UU you probably won't be upgrading the militia line (or do those unit upgrades not count as "techs"?). Cavalry are terrible as no bloodlines or +4. Eco bonus is still ok in FC maps I guess, you can go up a bit faster and have wood for things in castle age due to the bonus.įU arbs.

Ironically, another civ probably not good on water despite being a naval civ. But on hybrid maps it sucks, as you can't use it to make early fishing ships. Probably arb + light cav, similar to Chinese, except no chu ko nu or thumb ring, but maybe the UU is strong like the chu ko nu?Ī pseudo-dark age bonus in the sense that you can change your bo to have less on wood and click up and get the 200 wood to do things with. If their UU is good then this civ is busted, but hard to imagine their UU is gonna be busted when it is a cav archer and they lack thumbring. If their UU is garbage then this civ is probably fine. Their UT gives probably an extra boost in the late game with giving you effectively +10 population (maybe a bit more). They also get light cavs with +4 and bloodlines. No dark age bonus, good feudal age bonus and castle age bonus. On water maps it won't help you get to feudal, but your ships regen? I think still probably ironically not a great water map civ. That eco bonus is strong, that's like the Chinese bonus effectively (not on maps where there is easy food under your TC or you start with food like RF) except it won't delay your feudal age. If the camel scout and their other uniques are shit (and too expensive for feudal), the herdabable gathering negligible and the 25% cheaper tech too expensive they could be awful. Of course they drop off hard in the late game and its completely dependent on how the bonuses work out. Maybe not top tier siege, but wouldn't call it poor. Also, if we consider Siege Elephant a direct replacement of Siege Ram they are only missing SO and Siege Engineers. The 25% less food on all military units tech seems quite strong on paper, especially if Siege Elephants cost Food instead of wood. (at least until the late game where the missing pikes will start to hurt more of course). They counter cavalry civs quite hard in general with the extra bonus damage for camels. Then in Feudal they have a unique unit which should destroy scout civs. If villagers foraging + sheep in mill combine to be faster then just villagers gathering sheep they might be the most efficient resource gatherers in dark age. The herdable bonus is the first new way outside of villagers or fishing ship to gather food in dark age.

Assuming camel scouts function same as their upgrade they can essentially always win the scout war. They have the potential to be really strong in the early game, depending on how certain bonuses work out. r/projectceleste - Age of Empires Online
